7th Annual MooseFest Wraps Up – Dryden, Ontario

The 7th Annual MooseFest events held June 26th to July 4th, 2010 are almost at a wrap. Fun was had by all and many of last years events were as much of a success or more than last year. Due to safety and weather conditions we were forced to reschedule two events: The Strongman competition (July 31st – now joining with the Trucker’s show and Shine during the Centennial Homecoming week) and the Soap Box Derbies (August 14th with a rain out date of August 15th).

The 1st Annual N.W.O. Canoe Racing Championship that took place on our roster was a great success in the eyes of the MooseFest Inc. group. As a first year event and many other activities happening in 2010 we decided to keep it at a small scale and hope to grow the event if successful. With 8 teams in the competition, everyone gave a great race and fun was had by all. Awards and prizes were given out in Cooper Park following the races and we hope to see all of the teams and more in 2011 back there again.

We thank all the local clubs, businesses and volunteers who supported the MooseFest events this year. We look forward to your continued support in 2011 to bring active and healthy lifestyles events to our community.
